an unwelcome visitor

I, who happen to have a horrid fear of warthogs, had this decidedly unwelcome visitor upon my second day in the chalet. My attempts to coax, shoo, prod, er . . . holler to remove him proved futile. Finally, a passerby came to the doorway and kindly used his weedwacker to assist the extraction. Not before I had lost a few possessions to the beast's un-discriminating appetite. I suspect, however, that he may be on the shorter end of the stick: among his courses I realize are three quarters of a bottle of shampoo and the blade from my shaving razor . . .

Well, at least it didn't eat Kimba Leo. I think it safe to say that I certainly don't envy that warthog's next, er, movement. :)

Colin (8yo) said that must have been very scary! He hopes you only have friendly visitors from here on out. All the children have enjoyed the pictures. They can hardly believe that wild animals wander in houses ther such as we might get only a mosquito or a mouse wandering in here in NH!

You can happily tell Colin that my only visitors today have been decidedly friendly: some cavorting monkeys and a grazing bushbuck. Kimba Leo is doing a fine job :-)
